Exploration of Electrodialysis in Material Concentration Field

Material concentration is a crucial step in many industrial production processes, aiming to increase the concentration of materials and reduce the volume and cost of subsequent processing or storage. Traditional material concentration methods such as evaporation concentration are widely used, but they have problems like high energy consumption and easy damage to heat - sensitive components in materials. As a new membrane separation technology, electrodialysis has gradually attracted attention and application in the material concentration field due to its advantages of high efficiency, energy conservation, and environmental protection.
I. Principle and Characteristics of Electrodialysis Technology
(一) Principle
Electrodialysis is a process where, under the action of a direct current electric field, using the potential difference as the driving force and the selective permeability of ion - exchange membranes, anions and cations in the solution migrate to the anode and cathode respectively. The anion exchange membranes and cation exchange membranes are alternately arranged to form multiple compartments.
